EASY DIY DISNEY OUTFIT

I love putting together disney themed outfits to wear at Disneyland!  Using iron on patches is a cute and easy way to get into the disney spirit, especially if you have limited sewing skills like me haha

  1. PICK A THEME

I like to have a color or Disney movie in mind before I start buying patches. It makes it easier to create a cohesive look when adding non-disney patches. On a recent project I chose the color red. This allowed me to sprinkle non-disney patches that matched my theme such as: cherries, hearts and red stars etc.

2. PUCHASE YOUR PATCHES

I buy a lot of patches on Amazon, but I also look at different craft stores to get a good variety. If I see a cute patch in a  random store somewhere I’ll buy it and add it to my collection because I know I’ll end up using it on something! I fully encourage building up your patch collection =)

3. ARRANGE YOUR PATCHES

Before I start ironing ANYTHING, I try on the item of clothing I will be decorating and make a mental note of how it falls on my body. Sometimes I’ll make something SO cute only to have it look really off when I try it on.

With that in mind, I lay the item of clothing flat and get to work arranging my iron on patches into a collage. I’ll usually rearrange things five or six times before it feels right.

4. SEW THE EDGES!!

After Ironing on your patches you must MUST sew the edges down. Or else, I guarantee all your patches will be gone by the end of the day =(

5. LOOK CUTE AT DISNEYLAND W/ YOUR SUPER CUTE OUTFIT!

P.S. The final product looks a lot different from my first vision. I really re arrange the patches a lot until I feel like it looks right.
